Life Goals List: 40 Long-Term Goals Worth a Decade
Life goals differ from bucket list items: a bucket list collects experiences, life goals build identity. 'Published author' changes what you are, not just what you did. These 40 from Achiever's catalog are the identity-tier attainments: mastery of a language or an instrument, feats of endurance, financial independence, work that outlasts you.
About ten are startable this year; the rest are honest decade projects. Pick three, not fifteen: life goals fail by dilution, not difficulty.

What are good examples of life goals?
The durable categories: mastery (a language to fluency, an instrument, a black belt), creation (a book written, a business built, work exhibited), endurance (a marathon-tier feat), security (financial independence), and connection (a decade-long partnership, a community you started). Each one changes your identity, not just your photo album.
How is a life goal different from a bucket list item?
A bucket list item is an experience you have once (see the northern lights); a life goal is an attainment you become (speak the language, own your time). Experiences take a booking; attainments take years of reps. Both belong in your plans, but they shouldn't share one list.
How many life goals should I have?
Three to five active ones. Fewer and a stall in one stalls everything; more and none get the reps they need. Keep the rest of this list as a bench: when a goal completes or genuinely dies, promote the next.
