Spiritual Growth

Engage in a practice (prayer, philosophy, study) that connects you to something larger than yourself.

How to complete Spiritual Growth

This is deliberately engaging with something beyond your own day-to-day self, through prayer, meditation, philosophy, sacred text, or nature, in a way that's reflective rather than performative. It's less about adopting a belief than about regularly stepping outside the noise of immediate wants and asking bigger questions.

  1. Choose a tradition or practice that genuinely draws you: a religious ritual, a Stoic text, sitting meditation, or quiet time in nature.
  2. Set aside a fixed, undisturbed block of time so it isn't squeezed out by the day.
  3. Engage actively: read slowly and reflect, pray with intention, or sit with a single question rather than skimming.
  4. Write down what surfaces afterward; spiritual insight fades fast if you don't capture it.
  5. Return to it regularly, since depth here comes from repetition, not a one-off session.

Tips

  • You don't need to be religious; philosophy and awe in nature count as connecting to something larger.
  • Resist treating it as a productivity task with metrics; the value is in presence, not output.
  • Start with ten honest minutes rather than an ambitious hour you'll abandon.

What counts as done

You've completed a focused practice that left you reflecting on something larger than your immediate concerns.
