Digital Nomad

Spend at least 30 consecutive days living and working remotely from a foreign country.

How to complete Digital Nomad

This is the first real test of whether you can decouple your income from your zip code: a full month of doing your actual job while based abroad, not a vacation with a laptop in the bag. Thirty days is long enough that the novelty wears off and you learn what truly breaks your workflow.

  1. Pick a destination with reliable infrastructure and a timezone that overlaps your work hours by at least a few usable hours
  2. Confirm your visa situation up front: most tourist entries permit remote work for a foreign employer, but verify for your specific passport and country
  3. Book accommodation with a verified fast connection and buy a local eSIM as your backup hotspot before you arrive
  4. Lock your core working hours and protect them, then explore the place in the gaps and on weekends
  5. Sort banking and payments before departure: a card with no foreign fees and a way to get cash

Tips

  • Test the wifi the first hour and switch rooms or cafes immediately if it stutters on a video call
  • Coworking day passes buy you reliable internet, air conditioning, and people when the apartment gets lonely
  • Keep receipts and a rough location log in case you ever need to prove residency days for tax

What counts as done

You worked your normal job for 30 unbroken days based in one foreign country without flying home.
