Standing on all seven continents is less about ticking boxes and more about the sheer reach it represents, with Antarctica being the rare, expensive, logistically real obstacle that separates this from ordinary travel. Most people knock out five or six over years, then the last one or two become a deliberate mission.

1. List the continents you have already set foot on and honestly date each one
2. Plan Antarctica first since it is the hardest: book a Drake Passage cruise from Ushuaia or a fly-cruise, usually months ahead
3. Combine far-flung continents into single trips, like pairing Africa with a Europe layover or Australia with an Asia stop
4. Save Antarctica's shoulder season (November or March) for lower prices and fewer crowds
5. Keep a dated boarding pass or stamp for each continent as you go
