How to complete Stage Presence

Performing on a real stage, an actual booked slot with lights and an audience that came to watch, is a different order of commitment than playing in your room or for friends. It's the moment your practice becomes a public thing other people experience.

1. Prepare a tight, rehearsed piece you can deliver cleanly even when nervous
2. Secure a genuine stage slot: an open mic, recital, showcase, or supporting set with a real booking
3. Rehearse with the actual gear or instrument you'll use, ideally in a similar-sized space
4. Do a soundcheck or stage check beforehand so levels and positioning aren't a surprise
5. Perform the full piece, then stay present for the audience's reaction

Tips

• Pick material you've performed cleanly many times, not your hardest or newest piece
• Arrive early; knowing the room and the walk to the mic kills half the nerves
• A bedroom livestream or busking spot doesn't count here; aim for an organized stage with an audience
