The Juggler

Maintain a continuous physical cascade with 3 or more objects for over 30 seconds.

How to complete The Juggler

A three-ball cascade is the foundational juggling pattern where balls cross in the air in a figure-eight, and holding it for 30 seconds proves you have a self-sustaining rhythm rather than a lucky burst. It rewires hand-eye timing in a way that transfers to almost every other juggling trick.

  1. Start with one ball, throwing it from hand to hand in a smooth arc that peaks at eye level.
  2. Add a second ball: throw the first, and when it peaks, throw the second under it across to the other hand.
  3. Add the third ball held in your dominant hand; throw it the instant the incoming ball reaches its peak, never two from the same hand back to back.
  4. Stand close to a wall or bed so misses don't send you chasing balls, and focus your eyes on the peaks, not your hands.
  5. Once you can run the pattern, count throws out loud to hold a steady tempo and stretch past 30 seconds.

Tips

  • Use beanbags or hacky sacks, not bouncy balls: they sit in the hand and don't roll away on drops.
  • If balls drift forward and you walk into a wall, you're throwing out instead of up; aim the arcs straight up toward your face.
  • Practice in short sets and stop while it still feels good, because fatigue wrecks timing fast.

What counts as done

You sustain a clean three-object cascade for over 30 continuous seconds without a drop, ideally caught on a quick phone video.
