The Exhibitor

Have your work officially displayed in a gallery, showcase, or public exhibition.

How to complete The Exhibitor

Getting work shown publicly means it cleared someone else's bar: a curator, juror, or venue agreed it belonged on the wall. The achievement is an official, attributed display, not a post online or a piece hung in your own hallway.

  1. Build a small, cohesive body of exhibition-ready work in one medium or theme.
  2. Photograph each piece well and write a short artist statement and bio.
  3. Target the right venues: open calls, juried shows, local galleries, cafes, libraries, or group exhibitions.
  4. Submit to calls for entry through Submittable, CaFE, or local arts councils, following each spec exactly.
  5. Once accepted, handle framing, labels, delivery, and the opening night.

Tips

  • Start with juried group shows or local venues; solo gallery slots come later.
  • Read submission rules closely: wrong size or file format gets you rejected unread.
  • Price and label the work professionally; it signals you're serious.

What counts as done

Your work appeared in a public exhibition with your name attached: a gallery show, juried exhibit, or curated showcase.
