The Exhibitor
70 pointshobbies & creativity
Have your work officially displayed in a gallery, showcase, or public exhibition.
How to complete The Exhibitor
Getting work shown publicly means it cleared someone else's bar: a curator, juror, or venue agreed it belonged on the wall. The achievement is an official, attributed display, not a post online or a piece hung in your own hallway.
- Build a small, cohesive body of exhibition-ready work in one medium or theme.
- Photograph each piece well and write a short artist statement and bio.
- Target the right venues: open calls, juried shows, local galleries, cafes, libraries, or group exhibitions.
- Submit to calls for entry through Submittable, CaFE, or local arts councils, following each spec exactly.
- Once accepted, handle framing, labels, delivery, and the opening night.
Tips
- Start with juried group shows or local venues; solo gallery slots come later.
- Read submission rules closely: wrong size or file format gets you rejected unread.
- Price and label the work professionally; it signals you're serious.
What counts as done
Your work appeared in a public exhibition with your name attached: a gallery show, juried exhibit, or curated showcase.
