How to complete Digital Composer

This is finishing an actual song (arrangement, mix, and a rendered file someone else can press play on) rather than noodling with loops that never leave your DAW. Exporting forces every decision to a close and gives you a shareable artifact instead of an endless work-in-progress.

1. Install a free DAW like GarageBand, Cakewalk, or the free tier of Reaper and learn its record and playback basics.
2. Lay down a tempo and a simple chord or drum loop as a backbone before adding melody.
3. Build a basic arrangement (intro, main section, and an ending) even if each part is short.
4. Record or program your instruments and a melody on top, keeping the track count manageable.
5. Do a rough mix so nothing clips or buries the lead, then export to a shareable MP3 or WAV.

Tips

• Finish a short, simple track end to end before attempting anything ambitious: a done 90-second piece beats a perfect unfinished one.
• Use stock instruments and loops first; chasing the perfect sample is a common stall point.
• Leave headroom so the master peaks around -1 dB and doesn't distort on export.
