Treetop Walker

Successfully navigate a canopy walkway in a forest or jungle environment.

How to complete Treetop Walker

A canopy walkway puts you in the layer of the forest where most of its life actually happens, dozens of meters above the ground on suspended bridges. It's a way to experience a rainforest or old-growth forest from a perspective ground trails never offer.

  1. Find a forest with a public canopy walkway, such as in Costa Rica, Borneo, Ghana, or established forest parks
  2. Book a guided or self-walk ticket and confirm any height or age restrictions
  3. Wear closed shoes with grip and keep your hands free for the rails and cables
  4. Cross steadily, keeping space between you and the next person so the bridge sways less
  5. Stop on the stable platforms rather than mid-span to take photos or watch for birds and monkeys

Tips

  • Early morning has the most wildlife activity and the least heat and crowds
  • If heights unsettle you, look ahead at the far platform rather than straight down
  • Bridges sway by design; move with the motion instead of fighting it

What counts as done

You've crossed a suspended canopy walkway in a forest or jungle from one end to the other.
