The Safe Space
10 pointsmental health & self-care
Identify one physical location in your home or city that makes you feel 100% safe and calm, and go there.
How to complete The Safe Space
This is about consciously pinpointing the one spot where your nervous system actually settles, and knowing you can return to it on a hard day. Naming that place turns a vague feeling into a reliable tool you can reach for when you're overwhelmed.
- Think about where your shoulders drop, maybe a reading chair, a quiet park bench, a specific room, or a spot near water
- Pick the single strongest one and go there on purpose, not by accident
- Once there, do nothing productive and just notice why it works: the light, quiet, smell, or view
- Record it somewhere so you can return intentionally next time you're frazzled
Tips
- It should be reachable on short notice, a place an hour away won't help mid-crisis
- If nowhere feels safe yet, build one: a corner with a chair, a blanket, and no screens
What counts as done
You named one specific place that reliably makes you feel calm and safe, and actually went there.
