A specific, warmly detailed review does far more for a small local business than a string of bare five-star ratings, because future customers and the owner both read the words. You're spending ten minutes to materially boost a real person's livelihood.

1. Pick a place you genuinely had a good experience with recently, while the details are fresh
2. Write three to five sentences: name what you ordered or did, what stood out, and who helped you
3. Mention specifics a stranger could act on, like a dish, a service, or how they handled a problem
4. Post it on the platform the business actually relies on, usually Google or the app they use
5. Add a photo if you have one, since reviews with images get seen more

Tips

• Name a staff member by first name if you can; owners often share those reviews with the team
• Skip vague praise like 'great place' and say what made it great
• Honest beats glowing, a believable review with one small caveat reads as more trustworthy
