The Daily Walk

Take a 20-minute walk outside purely for your physical and mental circulation.

How to complete The Daily Walk

A short outdoor walk does more for blood flow, mood, and mental reset than most people expect, and it's the lowest-friction movement habit there is. The point isn't fitness numbers, it's getting your body moving and your eyes on something other than a screen for 20 unbroken minutes.

  1. Pick a fixed trigger time so it doesn't get negotiated away, like right after lunch or before your first meeting
  2. Step out the door without checking your phone first, or you'll never leave
  3. Walk at a relaxed but steady pace, not a stroll, until you feel slightly warm
  4. Take a loop you don't have to think about so navigation isn't an excuse
  5. Aim for a full 20 minutes of actual walking, not counting time spent getting ready

Tips

  • If weather is bad, walk anyway in a jacket, it's only 20 minutes
  • Leave headphones out occasionally and just listen to the street, that's the mental circulation part
  • Morning light exposure on the walk also helps your sleep that night

What counts as done
