Skincare Initiate

Wash your face with a proper cleanser instead of just using body wash or plain water.

How to complete Skincare Initiate

Body wash and bar soap are formulated for skin that's tougher than your face, so they strip its oils and leave it tight or flaky. Switching to an actual facial cleanser is the entry move of any skincare routine and the one with the most obvious payoff for the least effort.

  1. Pick a gentle cleanser for your skin type: gel or foaming for oily skin, cream or lotion for dry or sensitive
  2. Wet your face with lukewarm water, since hot water strips and irritates
  3. Massage a small amount in with fingertips for 30-60 seconds, then rinse fully so no residue dries on
  4. Pat dry with a clean towel and follow with moisturizer while skin is still slightly damp
  5. Cleanse once at night to remove the day's grime, and just rinse in the morning if your skin runs dry

Tips

  • Avoid anything that leaves your face squeaky-tight; that's a sign it stripped too much
  • Fragrance-free reduces the odds of irritation while you find what works
  • Skip harsh scrubs at first; a basic cleanser is plenty to start

What counts as done
