How to complete Museum Marathon

Most museum visits are a fast lap past the highlights. This one is the opposite: a full day where you actually read the placards, follow the chronology, and let a collection teach you the way it was designed to. Reading half the labels turns wandering into learning.

1. Pick a large science or history museum with enough depth to fill a day
2. Arrive at opening and grab a floor map to plan a route through every wing
3. Read at least every other placard, not just the ones beside famous objects
4. Schedule a real lunch break so fatigue doesn't make you skim the afternoon halls
5. Cover the temporary exhibits too, since those rotate and won't be back

Tips

• Wear comfortable shoes and pace yourself; a marathon means hours of standing
• Photograph placards you want to revisit instead of stopping to read every word in full
• Go on a weekday morning to avoid crowds blocking the labels

You spent a full open-to-close day in one museum and read roughly half or more of its exhibit text.
