Inner Child Nurtured

Do something you loved doing as a 10-year-old (swinging on a swing, coloring, legos) just for fun.

How to complete Inner Child Nurtured

Doing a purely childhood activity with zero productive purpose reconnects you to play for its own sake, which adults quietly lose as everything becomes goal-driven. The point isn't nostalgia, it's giving yourself permission to do something with no output, no audience, and no improvement metric.

  1. Recall what genuinely absorbed you around age ten: building, drawing, swinging, a specific game
  2. Pick the one that still makes you smile to picture, then physically set it up today
  3. Do it for real, not ironically: actually swing, actually build the Lego set, actually color the page
  4. Stay with it long enough to lose track of time and drop the 'should I be doing something useful' voice

Tips

  • Resist turning it into a project or posting it; the moment it has a goal it stops being play
  • Do it alone if self-consciousness creeps in, or with a kid who'll take it seriously
  • Cheap and analog beats screens here; the tactile, hands-on versions land deeper

What counts as done

You spent real time on a childhood activity purely for fun and felt at least a flash of that uncomplicated enjoyment.
