First Aid Certified

Complete a certified first aid and CPR course.

How to complete First Aid Certified

Earning this means you can act in the minutes before paramedics arrive, when bystander response decides outcomes, instead of standing by helpless. CPR, choking response, and bleeding control are genuinely the difference between a story that ends well and one that doesn't.

  1. Book a course from a recognized provider such as the Red Cross, St John Ambulance, or AHA that issues a real certificate.
  2. Choose a hands-on or blended class so you physically practice chest compressions on a manikin, not just watch video.
  3. Learn and rehearse the core skills: CPR, using an AED, the recovery position, choking relief, and severe-bleeding control.
  4. Pass the practical assessment and any written check at the end.
  5. Save the certificate and note its expiry, usually two years out.

Tips

  • Pick a course that includes AED training; many public buildings now have one and it dramatically raises survival odds.
  • Practice compression depth and rate until it feels automatic, since panic erases half-learned skills.
  • Set a calendar reminder to recertify before the card lapses.
