How to complete Elite Navigator

Navigating somewhere written in Cyrillic, Kanji, or Arabic strips away your usual crutch of reading signs. You learn to move by shape, color, symbol, and pattern, which is a genuinely different and sharper way of finding your way around.

1. Learn to recognize, not read, the written form of your hotel, neighborhood, and a few key stops so you can match shapes.
2. Photograph your destination's name in the local script to show drivers and shopkeepers.
3. Use station numbers, line colors, and icons on transit maps instead of trying to read names.
4. Pick visual landmarks, a distinctive building or sign, as your turn markers.
5. Save your accommodation's address in the local script as a fallback to show anyone.

Tips

• Memorize the symbols for entrance, exit, toilet, and men/women; they're the ones you'll need urgently.
• Numbers are often written in familiar digits even when text isn't; lean on platform and bus numbers.
• A screenshot of your address in local script beats any pronunciation attempt with a taxi driver.
