Border Crosser

Successfully cross an international border and enter a foreign country for the first time.

How to complete Border Crosser

Your first international crossing is a real threshold: a different stamp, a different language on the signs, a different set of rules the moment you step across. It's the entry point to every other travel experience, and the logistics are simpler than first-timers fear.

  1. Check your passport's expiry and the destination's visa rules well before you book; many require six months of validity.
  2. Confirm whether you need a visa, an e-visa, or visa-on-arrival, and any vaccination or entry forms.
  3. Have proof of onward travel and accommodation ready; border officers often ask.
  4. Fill out arrival and customs cards honestly and keep them with your passport.
  5. Answer the officer's questions calmly and briefly, then get your entry stamp.

Tips

  • Declare anything you're unsure about; undeclared goods cause far worse problems than the duty.
  • Keep a digital and paper copy of your passport in case the original is lost.
  • Have local currency or a working card ready for any entry or transit fees.

What counts as done

You've legally entered a country other than your own and have the stamp or entry record to show it.
