The Jump Rope
35 pointsfitness & sports
Successfully jump rope continuously for 10 minutes. Impressive endurance.
How to complete The Jump Rope
Ten minutes of unbroken jump rope is a real cardiovascular and coordination feat. Most beginners trip within the first minute. It demands rhythm, relaxed timing, and conditioned calves more than raw fitness.
- Size the rope: handles should reach your armpits when you stand on the middle.
- Master the basic bounce first, jumping just an inch off the floor on the balls of your feet.
- Turn the rope from the wrists, not the arms, keeping elbows close to your sides.
- Build endurance with intervals (1 min on, 30 sec rest) and stretch the work sets weekly.
- Once you can string 3-4 minutes, push to 10 minutes at a steady, easy cadence.
Tips
- Stay light and low: high jumps waste energy and wreck your timing.
- If you trip, restart the count immediately rather than pausing to reset rhythm.
- Pick a forgiving surface (gym floor, mat) over concrete to spare your shins.
What counts as done
Ten continuous minutes of jumping without the rope catching your feet or you stopping to rest.
