Under-Sink Explorer

Organize the chaotic mess of cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink.

How to complete Under-Sink Explorer

The under-sink cabinet quietly fills with half-empty bottles, damp rags, and sponges until you can't find anything and start buying duplicates. Clearing it back means you actually reach what you need, and it's the one spot where a slow plumbing leak hides unnoticed.

  1. Pull everything out and wipe the cabinet floor, which is usually sticky or has leak residue.
  2. Toss dried-out or expired products and consolidate duplicate bottles of the same cleaner.
  3. Group what's left by use: surface sprays, dish supplies, scrubbers, trash bags.
  4. Add a small bin or lazy Susan so bottles aren't stacked behind the drain pipe.
  5. Set a tray under leak-prone bottles to catch drips.

Tips

  • While it's empty, check for water stains or warping; a slow leak shows here first.
  • Use a liftable caddy so you can pull it out and mop the cabinet later without unloading.

What counts as done

The cabinet floor is clean and dry and every bottle is visible without digging.
