How to complete Tupperware Matching

Mismatched lids turn a cabinet into an avalanche and leave you covering a bowl with a plate at dinner. Pairing every set and cutting the orphans makes the cabinet usable and frees up surprising space.

1. Take every base and lid out and spread them across the counter.
2. Match each base to its lid, nesting the completed sets as you go.
3. Recycle any base or lid with no partner, plus cracked, warped, or deeply stained ones.
4. Store lids upright in a bin and stack the bases by size.

Tips

• Warped or melted plastic won't seal and may not be food-safe, so let it go.
• Keep only the sizes you actually use and donate the rest.
