The Note App Purge

Delete the hundreds of cryptic, context-less notes ('buy salt,' 'idea: dog') from your phone.

How to complete The Note App Purge

Most note apps quietly become graveyards of half-thoughts that meant something for ten minutes and nothing since. Clearing them turns a panic-inducing scroll into a short, usable list you'll actually open.

  1. Sort notes by oldest first or by date edited so the deadwood surfaces immediately.
  2. Skim each note for about two seconds; if you can't tell what it meant, delete it without guilt.
  3. Pull anything still useful (a recipe, a gift idea, a password hint) into one labeled keeper note.
  4. Empty the 'Recently Deleted' folder so the note count actually drops to near zero.

Tips

  • Don't read every note fully: if it needs decoding, it has already failed its job.
  • Set up two or three pinned notes (Lists, Ideas, Reference) so new notes have a home and don't pile up again.

What counts as done

Your note app opens to a short, legible list with no orphaned one-liners, and Recently Deleted is empty.
