How to complete Password Vault

Reusing three passwords everywhere means one leaked database compromises your email, banking, and everything else at once. A password manager gives every account a unique random password while you remember exactly one, and logins actually get faster, not slower.

1. Pick a manager: Bitwarden (free, open source), 1Password, or iCloud Keychain if you are all-Apple.
2. Create a master passphrase of 4-5 random words, write it on paper, and store that paper somewhere safe at home.
3. Export saved passwords from your browser as a CSV, import into the manager, then delete the CSV file.
4. Fix the critical accounts first: email, banking, government logins. Replace each reused password with a generated one.
5. Run the manager's built-in reuse or breach report and work the reused count down to zero over the next couple of weeks.
6. Turn off your browser's own password saving so everything new goes into the vault.

Tips

• Do your email account first; it can reset every other account.
• Enable two-factor authentication on the vault itself, since it now holds everything.
• You do not need to fix all logins in one day; change the long tail naturally as you sign in to each site.
