How to complete Screen Protector Surgeon

Getting a tempered-glass or film protector down clean is about controlling dust, not luck: a single trapped speck becomes a permanent rainbow halo you see every time the screen is dark. Doing it right once saves you the peel-rebuy-redo cycle.

1. Work in the bathroom right after a hot shower: the steam pulls airborne dust out of the air.
2. Clean the screen with the alcohol pad, then the microfiber cloth, then lift remaining specks with tape or the kit's sticky dust stickers.
3. Use the alignment frame, or tape one edge as a hinge so the protector drops straight down instead of sliding.
4. Peel the backing and lower it from one edge, letting it self-adhere rather than pressing the middle first.
5. Push bubbles outward to the nearest edge with a microfiber-wrapped card; if dust got trapped, lift the corner and re-lay.

Tips

• Trapped dust means lift and re-lay; a dust-free air bubble usually migrates out on its own within a day.
• Power the screen off and tilt it under a lamp to catch specks you'd otherwise miss.
