Duplicate Photo Purge

Delete the identical, blurry photos of your pet/food and keep only the one perfect shot.

How to complete Duplicate Photo Purge

Burst shots and retries leave your camera roll clogged with near-identical frames of the same plate of food or sleeping cat. Keeping only the sharpest version reclaims storage and makes the album worth scrolling again.

  1. Open your photo app's Duplicates tool if it has one (iOS Albums > Utilities and Google Photos both do)
  2. Go burst by burst: pick the one in-focus, well-lit frame and delete the rest
  3. Zoom to full size before deciding, since blur and closed eyes hide at thumbnail scale
  4. Empty the Recently Deleted folder so the space is actually freed

Tips

  • Sort by file size or use a deduper like Gemini or Remo to find exact copies fast
  • Decide quickly; a 'maybe' pile defeats the purpose, so when two are equal keep one and move on

What counts as done

Each subject has a single keeper, Recently Deleted is empty, and storage has dropped.
