Thermal Discipline

End every shower with at least 60 seconds of ice-cold water for 7 consecutive days.

How to complete Thermal Discipline

Ending warm and then turning the dial to cold is harder than a fully cold shower because your body has to override comfort on purpose. Seven days back to back is what turns the dread into a routine you stop arguing with.

  1. Shower normally, then turn the water fully cold for the last stretch.
  2. Start the cold on your feet and legs, then move it to your back and chest.
  3. Breathe slow and deep through it; don't hold your breath or gasp.
  4. Count out a full 60 seconds; don't trust your sense of time under cold water.
  5. Do it daily without skipping: a missed day restarts the seven.

Tips

  • The first 15 seconds are the worst; if you can ride those out the rest is easy.
  • Keeping your head out of the stream makes 60 seconds far more bearable early on.
  • Slow exhales calm the cold-shock urge to panic-breathe.

What counts as done

Seven consecutive days, each ending with a genuine 60-second cold finish (no warm-up cheat at the end).
