Speaker Panel

50 pointscareer & work

Be invited to speak on a panel or give a presentation at a major industry event.

How to complete Speaker Panel

Getting invited to speak means organizers already see you as a credible voice worth putting in front of their audience. Landing a slot expands your network, generates inbound opportunities, and forces you to sharpen your thinking into a defensible point of view.

  1. Build a visible track record first: posts, podcasts, or talks at smaller meetups that organizers can find
  2. Watch for open calls for speakers (CFPs) and pitch one specific, narrow session topic, not your resume
  3. Prepare a speaker kit: short bio, headshot, and two or three concrete talk titles with takeaways
  4. Ask peers and past organizers for warm intros to program committees
  5. Offer to fill last-minute cancellations: they happen and you become the easy yes

Tips

  • CFPs usually open 6-9 months before the event; submit early
  • Organizers want a defined angle and a clear audience benefit, not a list of credentials
