Posture Check

Catch yourself slouching, and force yourself to sit or stand up straight for the rest of the hour.

How to complete Posture Check

Slouching becomes invisible because it's your default, and the fix isn't a perfect ergonomic setup, it's noticing in the moment. Catching one slump and correcting it trains the awareness that eventually makes good posture automatic.

  1. Notice the slouch, the rounded shoulders, forward head, or collapsed lower back
  2. Stack yourself upright, ears over shoulders, shoulders over hips
  3. Plant both feet flat and let your chest open rather than forcing your shoulders back
  4. Hold reasonable posture for the rest of the hour instead of snapping back to slumping

Tips

  • Don't go rigid, relaxed-tall beats military-stiff and lasts longer
  • A tiny visual cue, like a sticker on your monitor, catches the slouch faster than willpower

What counts as done

You caught yourself mid-slouch and stayed upright for the remainder of that hour.
