Plant-Based Week

Eat an entirely plant-based diet for 7 consecutive days.

How to complete Plant-Based Week

A week is long enough to get past the novelty and find out how your body, grocery bill, and cooking habits actually adjust to eating without animal products. Most people fail around day 3 when convenience food runs out, so this is really a planning challenge, not a willpower one.

  1. Pick a start date and plan all 21 meals before day one, anchored on 4-5 dinners you can repeat.
  2. Shop once for the full week: beans, lentils, tofu, grains, frozen vegetables, nuts, and a plant milk.
  3. Veganize meals you already love — chili, stir-fry, curry, burritos — instead of learning a new cuisine mid-week.
  4. Check labels for hidden dairy, eggs, honey, and gelatin; bread, pesto, and sauces are common traps.
  5. Keep a lazy backup for low-energy nights: hummus and tortillas, instant noodles, or a frozen vegan meal.

Tips

  • Protein isn't the problem in one week — hunger is. Plants are less calorie-dense, so eat bigger portions than usual.
  • Eating out: Thai, Indian, Mexican, and Middle Eastern menus are easiest to order plant-based.
  • If you slip on one meal, restart the count. Consecutive is the whole point.
