One Week Gossip Free

Go 7 days without talking negatively about someone who isn't in the room.

How to complete One Week Gossip Free

This targets the casual habit of discussing absent people unfavorably: the venting, the 'did you hear', the character read shared with a third party. A clean week shows how much of your conversation runs on it and what's left when it's gone.

  1. Define it clearly: any negative comment about someone not present, including 'just venting'.
  2. When a conversation turns to an absent person, redirect to something they did rather than who they are, or change the subject.
  3. If you have a genuine problem with someone, take it to them directly instead of about them.
  4. Bow out of group pile-ons with a neutral 'I don't really know what happened there'.
  5. Mark each slip honestly, including the small ones that feel harmless.

Tips

  • 'Concern' and 'just being honest' are the most common disguises, so count them.
  • You can still discuss problems; the test is whether you'd say it to their face.
  • Cutting gossip often shortens conversations at first: that gap is the habit, not a loss.

What counts as done
