Notification Junkie
25 pointsbreaking bad habits
Turn off all non-essential push notifications (likes, news alerts, mobile games) permanently.
How to complete Notification Junkie
Every non-essential push is an interruption you never agreed to, training you to grab your phone dozens of times a day. Killing the noise permanently, not snoozing it, leaves only the alerts a real person or a real deadline actually sent.
- Open notification settings and work app by app, not by chasing alerts one at a time.
- Turn off everything from games, social likes, news, shopping, and 'we miss you' re-engagement apps.
- Keep only direct human contact and truly time-sensitive ones: calls, messages, calendar, 2FA, maybe maps.
- Disable badge counts too, since the little red dot is a notification of its own.
Tips
- If an app won't let you be selective, switch it off entirely; you'll open it on your own schedule.
- Do this on both phone and desktop, or the noise just migrates to the other screen.
What counts as done
Your lock screen stays quiet for hours and the only pushes arriving are from actual people or genuinely urgent systems.
