Ergonomic Discipline
15 pointsbreaking bad habits
Keep both feet flat on the floor and your back straight against your chair for a full workday.
How to complete Ergonomic Discipline
Slouching and crossed legs feel comfortable for ten minutes and wreck your lower back over eight hours. Holding feet-flat, back-supported posture for a whole workday proves you can override the slump-by-default habit and shows you what neutral spine actually feels like.
- Set your chair height so your knees sit at roughly 90 degrees with both feet flat
- Slide your hips all the way back so the chair, not your muscles, holds your spine
- Raise your screen to eye level so you don't crane forward and drag your back with it
- Set a reminder every 30-60 minutes to reset position, posture decays silently
- Uncross your legs every time you catch them, it's the most common drift
Tips
- A small rolled towel behind your lower back makes upright posture the path of least resistance
- Standing or walking on breaks counts as good ergonomics too, stillness itself is the enemy
- If your feet dangle, use a footrest or a stack of books rather than tucking them under you
What counts as done
You finished a full workday having kept feet flat and back supported, catching and correcting every slump.
